  • Hi Dale,

    Thank you for your reply.

    >5. Extract, go to Bin, and run inf-wizard.exe. Click next, select “unknown device” from the list of devices, and click next >and finish. You will get a .inf file at the end. Right-click on this file and click install. This installs the libusb drivers.
    Not good.
    I can't find “unknown device”
    Why?

  • Hi Tom,

Are you using WIN 10 OS on you laptop? Are you able to see the LEDs on and the U10 display on the MMB0 board?

Can you check and post the screen shots the device manager of windows on you laptop? "unknown device or MMB0(NI-VISA)?

Can you try to manually install the USB driver according to Joseph's suggestions in the post I shared?

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,
    >Are you using WIN 10 OS on you laptop? Are you able to see the LEDs on and the U10 display on the MMB0 board?
I am using win11 OS, Dell laptop.
    U10 does not display.
Please refer to the attached file.
    >Can you check and post the screen shots the device manager of windows on you laptop? "unknown device or MMB0(NI->VISA)?

Please refer to the attached file.

  • Hi Tom,

Thanks for your information. You are connecting the MMB0 to the laptop without the EVM daughtercard. The MMB0 first enumerates as an “MMB0 device” and rarely do customers have issues with this driver. It is only after the GUI attempts to flash the MMB0 firmware and the new firmware attempts to enumerate as a LIBUSB device that we usually run into the driver issue, so please check your Windows Device Manager according to the following steps:

    1. Open your Windows Device Manager.
    2. Connect all of the hardware including the EVM daughtercard to the laptop or PC.
    3. Power cycle the MMB0 to check if the "NI-VISA USB Devices" and “MMB0 device” can be seen like below:
    4.
    5. Open and run the ADS131E08EVM GUI and check your Windows Device Manager to see if  "libusb-win32 devices" or "USBStyx” should be seen like below (it will take a couple of seconds to update):
    6.

Let me know your check result.

If your device manager does not show the information in the step 5, please re-installed the USBStyx driver using an Admin account and also manually associate the driver using the procedures which are introduced in the following threads:

  • Hi Dale,

    I checked the Device Manger.
    I can saw like below:

    What  is "oem166.inf(mmb0_vista_vista&7.inf)" ?
    Best Regards,
    Tom
  • Hi Tom,

A setup information (INF) file is a text file in a driver package that contains all of the information that device installation components use to install a driver package on a device. You can actually find it (mmb0_visa_vista&7.inf) in the following folder on your laptop/PC after the E08 GUI is installed:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\ADS131E08EVM\lib_13xe08\Styx\mmb0_drivers

It seems like your MMB0 driver has been installed even your device manager showed different information from the information the device manager on my Windows 10 laptop showed. However, you could update the driver by locating for the folder I pointed out above.

Have you tried the step 5? What did your device manager show for step 5?

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,

When I installed it, the following message appeared and failed.

The general meaning of Japanese in the above picture is as follows:

Some drivers could not be successfully installed.

Some of the specified drivers failed to add and install.

mmb0_visa.inf: Failed to add driver to system. Error 0xE000022F: Third party INF does not contain a digital signature.
mmb0_visa_vista&7.inf: Failed to add driver to system. Error 0xE000022F: Third party INF does not contain a digital signature.

    Best Regards,
    Tom

  • Hi Tom,

Did you ever try disabling the driver signature verification in your Windows? See the details in the threads I shared above.

Can you let me know your procedure to manually install/associate the driver? screenshot for each step will be helpful.

The GUI was not developed for Win 11 or 10, so I'm not sure if WIN 11 will work but I knew the customers have successfully used this GUI on WIN 10 and also I'm using it on my WIN 10 laptop, so can you try to install the GUI and the MMB0/USBSytx driver on a WIN 10 computer?

    Best regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,

    I disabled the security boot.
    Please check this mode.
I send you photo in boot.
    Best Regards,
    Tom
  • Hi Tom,

Did you re-install the GUI after you disabled the driver signature verification? If so, what's the status in your device manager when the hardware is connected and the GUI is run?

What's your procedure to manually install/associate the driver?

Have you tried WIN 10 PC?

These information will be very helpful to address the issue. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Tom,

I have not heard any feedback for two weeks, I'm going to close this thread. You can post a new query if the issue still exists.

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,

    It's a long holiday season in japan.(G.W)
I installed successfully but the board doesn't work.
    It says "No firmware....".
Could it be that the download program in the DSP got corrupted when the board crashed?
    Best Regards,
    Tom
  • Hi Tom,

Can you answer my questions in my previous post?

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale

Do you mean to close this thread and post a new query?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Tom,

    Below are my questions:

Did you re-install the GUI after you disabled the driver signature verification? If so, what's the status in your device manager when the hardware is connected and the GUI is run?

What's your procedure to manually install/associate the driver?

Have you tried WIN 10 PC?

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Dale,

Thank you for your reply. Following is the customer's response.

    >Did you re-install the GUI after you disabled the driver signature verification?

    Yes I reinstalled.
If you don't, you won't be able to set the folder to add the driver from Device Manager.

    >If so, what's the status in your device manager when the hardware is connected and the GUI is run?

    what status?
    Nothing has changed.

    >What's your procedure to manually install/associate the driver?

    1. Uninstall an application.
    2. Configure your PC to allow installation of unsigned drivers.
    3. Install application
    4. Set the driver.
    5. Launch the application.

    >Have you tried WIN 10 PC?

    Do not have.

    Best Regards,
    Tom

  • Hello,

I'm checking with software team and will get back to you soon.

  • We are trying to find a WIN 11 test machine to check and should be able to have a result on next Monday US time.

  • Hi Dale,

    Thank you for your response.

    Waiting for your further update.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Tom,

We had to order a new EVM board for testing, it will take few days. I will let you know once we get it and have any update, thanks for your patience.

    Regards,

    Dale

  • Hi Tom,

Thank you for your patience. Our software team was able to run the ADS131E08EVM GUI on a Windows 11 laptop, so the Operating System should not be the issue. You probably encountered a driver issue. If you have an access to another Windows 11 laptop then we would recommend installing the ADS131E08EVM GUI software first (before connecting the hardware). It may be that connecting the hardware before installing the driver might have lead to the issue you are facing.

    Regards,

    Dale
