DAC81416EVM: Large delay in all channels

Part Number: DAC81416EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, DAC81416

Hi Team,

Our customer noticed a large delay on the output of DAC81416EVM. Please see the details of the issue below.

I ordered DAC81416EVM and USB2ANY from you and am trying to send out a signal with sample rate of 1kHz to all 16 channels simultaneously however there is a large delay in all channels.

The DAC should have a processing speed of 50MHz and USB2ANY 25MHz if I am correct, so it should be able to handle this I think

It is about 0.2-0.3 seconds, not exactly sure though. We have an oscilloscope and we can see the delay clearly since it is not a smooth wave

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

What are they using to control the USB2ANY? The USB2ANY/DAC81416EVM GUI isn't really meant to be used to send continuous data to the DAC to generate a waveform. The delays are likely coming from the software itself rather than the USB2ANY or the DAC81416
