ADS8508 too fast for replace ADS7808 (DATAclk 9MHz want 2Mhz)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7808, ADS8508

Hello, i need help from you! i have to update a circuit im actually using a ADS7808 but on your website it said we have to replace by a ADS8508! my probleme is that the internal data clk is too fast 9MHz! (2MHz for the ADS7808) i have to transmit the data by optical fiber! 9Mhz is too fast! can you explen me how i can make it working slowly? please!!

  • Xavier,

Could you, alternatively, supply the ADS8508 with SCLK?

Since you already control when the device is converting by toggling R/C and CS you can slow the conversions down with your digital interface and just provide a slower SCLK. Unfortunately there is no other way to achieve a slower internally generated SCLK with this converter.
