ADS8664: Suggestion for accuracy requirement

Hi,

I am planning to use ADS8664IDBT for my design. I have a requirement of accuracy should be 0.1% of the span. Needed suggestion if this is suitable for my application ?

For your reference my requirements are : 0-5v DC, resolution 12-bits.

Hi Sandeep,

Welcome to our e2e forum! The ADS8664 is a 12-bit converter so using the 0-5.12V range of the device, your LSB size would be 1.25mV as noted in Table 4. If you need an accuracy of 5 mV, that would be 4 LSBs. Follow the power supply and layout guidelines in the datasheet and you should be able to reach your design goals.

Please let me know if ADS8664 is pin to pin compatible with ADS8674 and ADS8684?

From my side what I see is they are compatible. Please confirm me on the same, as I am planning to use ADS8674 or ADS8684 in future with a 14 bit or 16-bit resolution.

Also let me know on the longevity of ADS8664, ADS8674 and ADS8684 ICs ?

Hi Sandeep,

Yes - the ADS8674 and ADS8684 are pin compatible with the exception of pin 35. There are some minor functional differences.
