ADS1278EVM usage as stand-alone

Hello

I want to use the ads1278evm as stand-alone.  I don't want the digital control using I2C to set the Mode and Format pins.

Instead, I use the pins of plug J5A for these settings.

Which position do the slide switches of S11 have, so that they don't affect my settings using the pins of J5A?  (Do they have to be set to HI or LOW?)

There isn't a pin for CLKDIV on plug J5A? What's the correct position of the last slider of S11 to set it high?

Thank you for your answers

Lukas

  • Hi Lukas,

This section of DIP switches, I2C port expanders, and GPIO on the J5 header can be pretty confusing. If you leave all of the switches in the off (default, switches pointed toward the bottom of the board) position you're safe to connect your external micro controller to the J5 header to control the format pins. In the default positions the PWDNX pins will all be driven high, meanwhile the FORMATX, MODE, and CLKDIV pins will be pulled low. If you flip the switch on pin 6 of the DIP switch S11 CLKDIV will be pulled high.
