ADS8686S: Unstable output of ADS8686S

Part Number: ADS8686S

Hi team,

Please kindly refer to SCH and register from my customer. They used to adopt parallel interface and the ADS8686S works well. While recently they change the design to serial interface and the output data is not stable anymore. So we need your guidance on further debug methods. Thanks.

  • Hi Owen,

Sounds like a firmware issue to me. If the device functions, and then changing the communication protocol causes it not to work, its the fault of the MCU controlling the device.

Can they verify the states of the following pins with a multimeter? I assume they're trying to use 2 wire mode.

In addition, it looks like the device isn't outputting or responding to the commands. The outputs are staying at 0b.

    Best,
