Doubt regarding ADS8558 LQFP package

Sorry i am posting this but i was unable to get proper information on net.

I have ADS8558 LQFP 64 pin. I want LQFP to DIp converter package. From what i have searched i am gettin LQFP 14 * 14 mm pitch 0.8mm to DIP is it compatible with ADS8558? I saw the dimensions from the datasheet it is given as 12*12 mm 0.8 pitch for which i am unable to get the DIP converter. Will 14*14 mm one be compatible???

Hi Vishal,

The ADS8558 package (12x12) would not be compatible with a footprint designed for a 14x14 device. The Proto Advantage part number PA0110 should work here though. That adapter is actually for an 80-pin 12x12 device so there are four 'extra' leads on each of the four corners. The pitch is 0.5mm and the land patterns should fit the ADS8556 package.

thanks a lot tom.... i found 12*12mm 64 pin 0.5 pitch LQFP to DIP on EBAY will that work???

Hi Vishal,

Without seeing the mechanical drawings associated with the adapter you found, I can't tell you for sure that it will. If it really is for a 12mm square package with 64 pins at a 0.5mm pitch, it should work. If the poster has mechanical details posted, I suggest you review them carefully before making a purchase. If the detail is not posted, you might try requesting that detail from the poster directly.

I saw the mechanical Drawings and was able to found a match on the proto-advantage.com the one which you mentioned. Thanks a lot for solving my doubt.
