I recently received this board and it looks like it should be easy to use.  I tried to go through the calibration mode and then after completing that I try to weigh and all I get on the display is "LG         G".  I am trying to display my results in grams too, but I get no actual values with any weight that I put on the system.  I have no clue what I am doing wrong.  The switch is in the Scale mode, the other switch are in EXT mode and not +5VA.  I took the two jumpers off.  I am lost.

    Hello James,

    Welcome to the TI E2E community.

    Can you provide a connection schematic showing how your load cell is connected to the ADS1231REF board?  The easiest configuration to use is shown in Figure 2:

    Also, for debug purposes, I suggest setting the VREF to the +5VA position and setting the mode switch to ANALYSIS.  You can then observe the raw ADC readings and verify that it is responding to different weights applied to the load cell.  Once basic operation is confirmed, then we can move to the Scale mode and calibrate.
