ADS1261EVM: ADS1261EVM

Part Number: ADS1261EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1294NCPDT,

Hello.

While I was checking the appearance of the board, I had found out some problems here and there.

1. There are some white colored stain over the TM4C1294NCPDT microprocessor.

As the cause of stainging isn't obvious, we didn't apply any solutions.

Honestly, I'm a little concerned that the main cause of the staining is a defect in the microprocessor.

2. The product model sticker is "ADS1262EVM" not "ADS1261EVM". It seems like an ignorable typing error,

but I would like to be confirmed whether there are any difference while manufacturing the product

if the named product model is different.

The images of the product are as follows.

I wish these would be helpful for your experts in technical team to consider whether they are defected or not.

Thank you.

  • Hi HyunWook Son,

Have you tried using the EVM yet to see if it works?

Can you post a picture of the serial number and the QR code on the front of the board? This is the white sticker just to the left of the processor

  • 1. I didn't try using the EVM because I wasn't sure about the reason of the staining. Also, when I shined the light to the microprocessor, it had reflected the similar amount of light as near metal pins. As the main material of stain on the microprocessor chip seems like some kind of metal, I just left it as it was delivered.

    2. Serial number and QR code are as follow

    3. Would it be possible, I would like to exchange the good.

Would you like to give me your opinion about my request?

    Thank you.

  • Hi HyunWook Son,

Thanks for providing the additional information. I have provided this info to our EVM manufacturer to see if there was an issue with the build. If you want to wait until I hear back from them before you try to use the board, feel free

Can you tell me where you purchased this EVM?

    -Bryan

  • I purchased the EVM at the TI official website.

The images are related to the ordering information.

  • Hi HyunWook Son,

Thanks for confirming the board was ordered through TI

I have confirmed with the EVM manufacturer that the sticker was placed in error, but the correct device is identified via the silkscreen text in the upper left corner of the EVM

The manufacturer also confirmed that the marking on the microcontroller is solder splash that is only cosmetic and will not effect performance.

Therefore, you should be able to use the EVM with no issues
