DAC37J82: Question related to implement DUC similar to DAC38R93

Part Number: DAC37J82
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC38RF83, DAC38RF93, DAC38RF80

Dear all,

We need to implement a Tx architecture using 2x (DUC + DAC) similar to DAC38R93 but we need a sampling frequency much lower than 9 Gsps. We need a frequency sample around 1 Gsps.

We have been searching in your web page and when the sampling frequency is reduced , the DACs are focusing to use complex arquitecture  with IQ outputs to be modulated using an external AQM and we have doubths if a topology similar to DAC38R93 could be implemented ,e.g., with DAC37J82.

Please, could you help us with this question? Is there a DAC for sampling frequencies around 1 Gsps includind DUCs similar to DAC38R93?

Thanks in advance.

We are looking fiorward to reading about you soon.

Best Regards,

Pedro

  • Hi Pedro,

The most comparable device dedicated to this sampling rate is the DAC37J82 as you have already found. A suggestion I have is to use the DAC38RF80 (differential outputs) or DAC38RF83 (integrated balun) sampling at 6GSPS with an interpolation factor of 6x to achieve a 1GSPS effective data rate. I would suggest one of these parts in this mode if you are looking for a DUC similar to DAC38RF93.

    Thanks, Chase
