ADC08200EVM: Why use the SN74AVC16244DGGR buffer/driver?

Hi all,

I have a simple question but one that I can't understand. Why this EVM uses the SN74AVC16244DGGR buffer between the ADC digital pins and the data output? Couldn't we connect directly the ADC digital pins to the data output?

    Hi João,

    Yes you can connect the ADC's digital pins directly to data outputs. The customer EVM has the buffer because the traces that connect the customer EVM and capture solution are fairly long and buffer is added to compensate for the loss.
