ADS1113: ADS1113

Part Number: ADS1113

Requesting following information on Digital Filter topology used in ADS1113 ADC.
1) Type of filter used and it's order.(FIR/IIR - Sinc or other)
2) Will this filter response results in Moving average or Weighted average
3) Filter cut off frequencies at different data rates (8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 250, 475, 860) and characteristic graph (Gain vs Input frequency at different data rates)

  • Hi Vinay,

The ADS1113 is a Delta-Sigma oversampling ADC with the modulator running at 250kHz.  The FIR low-pass digital filter is used to remove quantization noise to achieve higher levels of precision.  The response curve is given in Figure 21 of the datasheet.  Each conversion is single-cycle settling and the response appears like a sinc1 filter (single averaging).  The graph will scale with respect to data rate, but I do not have the specific values for the -3dB cutoff frequency.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
