Hello, it is possible to have the drivers or the protocol implemented on the serial interface of the EVM to interface it with our PC program?
Thanks

Roberto,
I don't know if we have the original source for the DAC161S997. However, there are several example TI designs that use the DAC161S997 as a loop controller and have some firmware written for some of our MSP430 devices. You can find these designs in the following folders:
https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00095
https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00165
https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00648
In the "Start Development" Section of each of these folders, there is a download for firmware written for each of these designs. In the firmware folders, there are files for DAC161.c and DAC161.h. These files should help you get started. Note that they may all be the same files duplicated through these designs.
While we can provide these files, we may not be able to give you much help this code.

Hi Joseph and thanks for the reply.
My aim is to use the EVM 'as is', using messages from the serial (USB) to program the DAC at a 'high level'.
What I need are the messages that the EVM receives from the PC (or the EVM firmware to be able to get them from the code).
Kind regards
Roberto
Hi,
Joseph will respond back on Tuesday as we have a US holiday today.

Salvatore,
I'm afraid we can't provide the EVM firmware. This EVM design and software was done a long time ago by National Semiconductor and the files are not available.
