DAC539G2-Q1: PWM generator with 10bit resolution

Part Number: DAC539G2-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC53701, DAC53204, DAC53202, DAC53204-Q1

Hi team,

I was thinking to use DAC539G2-Q1 as a PWM generator which can output the duty cycle with 10bit resolution.

But, I found the SPI / I2C configuration mode can be used only for the configuration. This device must set MODE = LOW (GPI mode) to output OUT1.

So, GPI mode can only select 8 outputs with 10bit resolution and 8 outputs are specified in VOUT-DATA-X.

Customer don't need to use GPI inputs. Customer can always connect DAC to MCU through SPI or I2C.

So, customer always wants to control DAC1 output with SPI / I2C. But I realized we can't do that.

Is there any way to control OUT1 through SPI or I2C? If it is possible, customer can use DAC539G2 as a 10bit PWM generator.

Otherwise, customer need to use 2pcs of DAC53701 or 1pcs of DAC53204 for a 10bit PWM signal generator.

Regards,

Saito
