ADS7056: Using ADS7057 EVM to evaluate

Part Number: ADS7056
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7057

Hey team!

Our customer hopes to use the ADS7057 EVM to evaluate the ADS7056. Chips are footprint compatible, and I received confirmation the chips on the EVM could be swapped off to evaluate the -56

Going a step deeper, are there other differences between the ADS7056 vs ADS7057 I should be aware of? Motivation behind my question: I'm curious if the GUI should still work.

Thanks!

  • Hi Cameron, The EVM has a single ended channel and a differential channel. By default, the single ended channel on the EVM uses the DCU package. There is a unpopulated RUG package option on the bottom of the PCB noted as U8. To use the ADS7056RUG, remove the ADS7042DCU from the top side and install the part in the U8 location on the bottom side.
