DAC63204EVM: Direct SPI communication

Part Number: DAC63204EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC63204

Hello,

The DAC63204EVM works properly with the USB interface in SPI mode.

The next step is to communicate directly with a microcontroller in using the SPI lines SDI, SCLK and SYNC connected to a demo board.

All the jumpers of the DAC63204EVM have been removed and the DAC63204 is power supplied with the VDD.

Unfornutally, the communication SPI does not seem to work. The DAC output does not change even with the same configuration used in USB mode.

Is there other hardware modification of the DAC63204EVM than removed the jumpers to establish a SPI communication with a microcontroller?

Thank you.

  • Hi Francois,

There should not be any other modifications. Remove the jumpers like you did and supply VDD, GND, and the SPI signals to the below pins.

What is the logic level of the MCU? Can you monitor the signals with a scope and share a screenshot of one of the write commands so I can double check the format?

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones

  • Hi Katlynne,

We have succeeded to communicate with the DAC63204. Our trouble came from the GND wire that was too long and produced a spike on the SYNC signal.

    Thank you for your answer.

    Best regards
