ADS1115: ADS1115IDGSR

Part Number: ADS1115

Hello,

We ordered on a website the pcb assembly of a pcb that have some ADS1115IDGSR parts on it.

When we have been using your product, it always had your logo and the letters BOGI

 genuine part

The point is that this time when we receive the pcb assembly the part places is this:

 new part?

We tested and it is working. We just want to know if this part is genuine from Texas Instruments or some sort of counterfeit.

According to the datasheet these are the device markings of this product:

pdf markings

So, no marking fits the one of the component.

Please confirm if this product is genuine or not.

Thank you for your time.

  • link to the datasheet to check the markings on page 45

  • TI support gave a terrible answer.

It seems they are now manufacturing ADS1115-Q1 and those have new markings including the one in question. So yes, it is genuine

  • Hi Sergio,

I'm not sure who you talked to at TI or the specific answer that they gave, but I apologize if misinformation was given.  There are many part number variations for this device family that include both industrial and automotive device numbers.  There are also several device packaging options as well.  The package markings may be unique, so if you changed from one device to another within the device family (industrial to automotive for example) you can verify the packaging number by going to the Packaging Part Marking Lookup on ti.com.  Below I show a generic lookup for ADS1115 and you can see the various markings that are used on the device.

Here you can see that 19J6 is a valid marking for the ADS1115BQDGSRQ1 device.  This information is also given in the respective datasheet for the device under packaging information shown on page 43.  Unfortunately you were looking under the non-automotive version of the datasheet for the proper marking, and that is why it is generally easier to look it up on the web lookup.

    Best regards,

    Bob B

  • Hi Sergio Espada,

In addition to Bob's comments about the difference in part markings between the -Q1 and non -Q1 ADCs, can you let us know who you spoke to at TI with respect to this comment:

TI support gave a terrible answer.

We would like to make sure that you always receive the best possible support, and this will help rectify any issues in our support system so we can better help you in the future. Thanks!
