AMC131M03: Question about Typical application in datasheet

Part Number: AMC131M03

Dear AMC131xxx Team,

Could you please help wizth the below:

The below Fig 9-4 is showing a typical application for current sensing on motor:
https://www.ti.com/document-viewer/AMC131M03/datasheet/GUID-1CE9AE9F-29E1-487D-8F31-578037C3E462#TITLE-SBAS994SBAS590477

A star topology and associated sensing points are shown on the motor/generator in order to read the voltage of phase_A.
However, star point taps are not the standard for this. The phase voltages are usually measured e.g. via phase_A and phase_B and converted accordingly.
Why would a star topology and associated sensing points be needed instead?

Thanks in advance,

A.
