Hi team,

About AMC60804/60704, when the ADC is configured for automatic mode conversion, read the ADC register Page4 Addr40~4B, will the ADC value be automatically latched? For example, during the reading process, the ADC jumps from 0x00FF to 0x0100. Regardless of whether it is read using SPI or I2C, Data[15:8] will be read first, and then Data[7:0] will be read. That is or Is it possible to read a value of 0x0000?

Hi Hale,

In auto conversion mode the value in the ADC data register for a specific channel is updated every time that channel is sampled in the CCS. You should ready bits 15:0 of the data register in one read. If you read the register twice to get bits 15:8 and bits 7:0 separately you are likely getting data returned from two different conversions.

So in I2C or SPI data, in one read, the Data[15:8] and the Data[7:0] can't be changed. The customer is afraid that the data can be changed in one read.

Hi Hale,

Ah, I understand the question. I am pretty confident that the data for bits 15:8 and 7:0 are loaded into the register at the same time and would not be changed during a read. Let me double check with the design team just to be sure.

Hi Hale,

I just double checked with the designer and they let me know that the register will not be updated with new conversion data after a read has been initiated through SPI/I2C.
