ADS123x Weigh Scale Application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1232

Hi Bob,

I've followed your advice with the layout of the ADS1232 and I still face problems.  I've gotten the code set up where I can correctly write to the part, but when I apply force to the surface of the chip, I do not see any difference in the output code.  What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi Nicholas,

From your post it implies that you are not connecting an external transducer to the part, so you may have to rephrase your question in order to clarify your point.

Please ensure that the connections to the excitation and signal leads of the transducer are correct. If these are interchanged, you may not get any signal at the input of the converter. With reference to Figure 42 of the datasheet,  are you getting a differential signal at pins 11 & 12 of the ADS1232 ?

    Regards,

    JayantD

  • Thanks Jayant,

I did have my wires crossed.  Everything is working now.
