AMC7834: application question

Hi expert,

Customer is looking for PA monitor solution and to do temperature compensation. There are three PAs in that chip and need power up sequence.

VG1/VG2/VG3 supply -5V--> VDD1/VDD2 supply 50V --> VG2 to -6V --> VG1 to about -3V to make Ivdd=40mA--> VG3 to about -3V to make Ivdd=130mA

Also need provide consistent Idd when Vdd changes.

We are considering AMC7834 but wondering if it can meet the requirements? Cause the AVss and DAC output range of AMC7834 can down to -5V only but they need -6V instead in this case.

If AMC7834 is not suitable, could you please advise other suggestions?

Hi Allan,

Doesn't look like the AMC7834 would work for this project.

For a part similar to the AMC7834, take a look at the AMC7936: AMC7836 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com This part has the -10V operating range you would require.

Another part that might interest you would be the AFE10004: AFE10004 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com. This part has a negative range up to -10 V, and has integrated switches for fast turn on and turn off for PA gates. Alongside that, the AFE10004 was built as a PA temperature compensation solution. It's a more complicated part, but very uniquely meets the requirements for a temperature compensation PA controller.
