AMC7834: The clamp mode in the datasheet EC table

Part Number: AMC7834

HI team,

Could you let me know the definition of the table for clamp mode?

In this table, we clamp DAC form 3.5V when it enters clamp mode. Does it mean that AMC7834 clamp DAC to 0V from 3.5V? and it takes max 5us.

Does it mean AMC7834 release DAC to 3.5V from 0V when it enters wake up mode. And it takes max 5us.

If the DAC range is 0V~ -5V, are these still 5us?

Thanks.

Leo

  • Hi Leo,

Yes, in your case the DAC will go from 3.5V output to whatever your VCLAMP1/2 voltage is set to (Note that the CLAMP voltage = -3 * VCLAMP. So if VCLAMP pin is grounded, your CLAMP voltage will be 0V).

I believe the chart does mean a clamp of 0V. So from 0V Clamp to 3.5V wake up mode is max 5us, along with 3.5V to 0V clamp shutdown.

    Thanks,
    Erin
