AMC131M03: Dividing resistor ratio and input range

Part Number: AMC131M03
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1311,

Hi,

There is equation for dividing resistor in AMC1311 datasheet.

Is one of AMC131M03 same as AMC1311?

In the AMC131M03 EVM schematic, analog input range is +/-10V with dividing resistor.

Is it for analog input range and does low-side resistor mean R2 and R7?

If yes, why it's limited up to +/-10V? can it be changed by dividing ration?

Thanks.

  • Hi David Park,

The AMC131M03 and AMC1311 are completely different devices.

The AMC1311 is an isolated amplifier for measuring voltage that has an analog input and an analog output

The AMC131M03 is an isolated ADC that has an analog input and a digital output (SPI). The AMC131M03 also has three simultaneous sampling ADCs inside the package, so it is a 3-channel device

You can use a larger resistor divider with the AMC131M03 if desired, I am not sure what the note in the EVM schematic means to be honest. The datasheet applications section (9.2.1) shows a much larger voltage divider for measuring power lines voltages (100V to 240V).
