ADS8166: Can this part be daisy chained with multiple chips?

Hi. Since the ADS8166 is SPI, can I daisy chain 2 of them together with SDO from chip1 into SDI of chip2?

SCK and CS# common to both chips.

The datasheet does not give any examples of daisy chaining, so I want TI to confirm if this is possible. Thanks.

Hello,

I need to check with the development team to see if this is possible for certain configurations. The ADC will not be able to support daisy-chain if using on-the-fly mode since it counts the number of SCLKs after /CS goes low to change the input channel.

Hello,

Sorry for the long delay, but unfortunately, the ADS8166 does not support daisy-chain. A possible alternative that does support daisy-chain is the ADS7067.

Unfortunately, there are no pin compatible alternatives. The best option will be the ADS7066, which is available in a 16pin package.
