AFE58JD18EVM: Net Connections to the FMC Connector on Revision C

Part Number: AFE58JD18EVM

It seems like all the unused nets on the FMC Connector are shorted to ground in AFE58JD18EVM Rev C. This has led to some problems when connecting to external data capture cards or FPGA cards since some of those nets are connected to important power rails. This ultimately leads to a short on the power rails on those interfacing cards. Is there a reason why those unused nets are shorted to ground instead of left floating like in AFE58JD18EVM Rev B?

  • Hi,

This EVM was designed to connect to TI's own TSW card and un-used pins was grounded unintentionally. You might be trying to connect it to some other card that might be leading to this issue. Can you consider using TI's TSW card (TSW14J50) for the evaluation?
