TSW14J50EVM: for testing DAC eval boards

Hi,

we are facing the same issue. In order to test DAC37J82 as an EVM, we purchased this eval board and following the instructions on the same page we tried to purchase TSW14J56EVM.

However, since this is not available anymore we checked for alternatives and ended up with purchasing TSW14J50EVM (also for quite obvious financial reasons, compare to the other boards). The product description was mentioning the capability of handling both ADCs as well as DACs and everything else looked fine.

Only after receiving the modules we realized that the release notes were mentioning that TSW14J50EVM can only handle ADCs and AFEs and now we are stuck.

I agree with the other customer that the product description is really misleading.

Is there any chance of an update/upgrade in order to use TSW14J50EVM together with DAC37J82EVM?

Hi Marko,

Sorry for the delay.

The TSW14J56EVM is obsolete due to the FPGA and other devices have gone obsolete for this assembly, so we cannot produce the EVM any longer.

If you can wait we are doing one last build of the TSW14J57, which is compatible with the DAC. These will be available in March timeframe.

Otherwise, the other options are as follows:

Purchase a TSW14J59EVM, we can help with the FW if we don't already have a FW option for this interface. www.ti.com/.../TSW14J59EVM

Or you can purchase a Xilinx development kit or similar and can use our JESD IP.
