TSW14J57EVM: Problem of trigger mode

Part Number: TSW14J57EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DJ3200EVM

Hi, Teams,

We have an experiment enviroment with ADC12DJ3200EVM, TSW14J57 and HSDC Pro 6.0. We tested the trigger option of 2 cases: 1) external trigger 2) software trigger. Both of them didn't work at all.

Our steps are as follows:

1. Power the boards and set the GUI of ADCEVM.

2. Download the firmware of ADC12DJXX00_JMODE[n]_trigger.ini. (we tested jmode0 and jmode2)

3. Set the trigger option of 2 cases. In the case of external trigger, a 0.1Hz pulse (High Voltage 1.8V, Low Voltage 0V, pulse width 20ns) is connected to the trigger_in, but it was said "Waiting for user input". In the case of software trigger, it was alarmed "No trigger occurs".

We are so confused. If there something else we need to do with the board?

  • Hello Lei,

    I have the following suggestions...

For external triggering a 1.8V logic high is ok but I would try increasing the pulse duration for longer than 20ns. You also have to enable trigger mode in the HSDCPro software this can be done by Data Capture Options > Trigger Options.

For software triggering you have to do multiple things, first you have to make a physical connection on the TSW14J57 board from the trigger out sma to the trigger in sma. Then you have to enable trigger mode and software trigger in the Data Capture Options > Trigger Options menu.

    Best,

    Eric
