AFE5818: Power consumption of the AFE5818

Dear Sir:

AFE5818 is about 6.5W when it is just powered on, when we adjust the external agc, the power consumption of the whole board will reach 13w. If the input afe5818 signal is disconnected, how to adjust the external agc, the power consumption will not change like this. Also, after configuring 5818 through spi, the power consumption will also be reduced to about 3.5w, is it normal for the power consumption to change like this?

    Hi King, 

    We don't expect AFE5818 to consume 13W. 

    Are you using the AFE5818EVM to quantify these power numbers? 

    Can you mention which mode your device is in  - 

    1. TGC or CW

    2. Power mode - low noise, medium power, low power

    3. What is the sampling clock?

    We expect the below max power consumption per channel in different modes, without input signal.
