ADS131M08EVM: Define address to read and write channel registers of ADS131M08 .

Part Number: ADS131M08EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131M08

To read a register, the corresponding register address must be sent with the RREG command (101a aaaa annn nnnn). However, since there are only 5 address bits (0x00 to 0x1F), reading the data of registers with addresses greater than 0x1F, such as the CH6_CFG register with an address of 0x27, requires a different approach or command?

  • Hi Srihari,

welcome to our e2e forum and thanks a lot for your interest in our ADS131M08.

Please note that the RREG command actually includes 6 bits for the address. Means you can address all registers up to the address of 0x3F.

  • Hi Joachim,

Thank you for your response. I noticed the RREG command's output, which was given as either "dddd dddd dddd dddd" or "111a aaa annn nnnn" (with only 5 address bits). I did not notice a command with 6 address bits, which is why I had doubt.
