TLV2553: Compatibility of TLV2553 and TLV2556

Hi team,

I am considering TLV2553 as a replacement for TLV2556.
I am setting data to the internal configuration register (CFGR2) of the TLV2556IPW for external reference mode and EOC mode.
I would like to replace the program as it is.
Is there any inconvenience if I write data to CFGR2, which is reserved in TLV2553?

Hi Ryu,

In the end, does it make a difference? Both the TLV2553 and TLV2556 have been set to 'EOL' status. The recommended replacement device is the ADS7952 which will require a different footprint and software interface from either of the TLC25xx devices.

Command 'F' in the TLV2553 is reserved. It would be prudent to remove that portion of the code from the initialization sequence.

Hi Tom,

Does this mean that writing to a reserved register may cause unstable behavior?
