Looking for a simultaneous sampling ADC with at least 6 (single-ended) channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8363

I am looking for an ADC with the following specifications:
  • At least 6 channel (single-ended).
  • At least 16 bit.
  • Simultaneous sampling.
  • At least 10 kS/s.
  • Reference input voltage that can handle 3.3 V (analog power might be 5 V).
  • IO voltage of 1.8 V.
  • SPI communication.
  • Trigger input for conversion/synchronization (might be combined with SPI CS).
  • Optional data ready output.
  • Small package and footprint.

We are limited in space, so we would like the footprint to be around 5 x 5 mm or smaller. It could also be a solution with two 3 or 4 channel ADC's that can be daisy chained and synchronized with a footprint of 3 x 3 mm each.
  • Hi Wouter,

Welcome to our e2e forum!  Do all six channels need to be sampled at the same time or can you work with channels 'pairs'?  The ADS8363 has two ADCs inside the package, each of those have a 4:1 MUX so you can actually get 8 channel pairs simultaneous sampled.  It is in a 5x5 package with a convert start mechanism as well as a BUSY output and can work with an SPI interface.  The only thing missing from your list is the 1.8V IO.
