ADS5294: Full-scale range

Part Number: ADS5294
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4509, , , TINA-TI

Hello,

I want to interface a 0V to 2V single-ended signal with the ADS5294 ADC. I plan to use a Single-ended to Differential conversion IC in between, specifically the THS4509. Could you confirm if this approach is feasible? If it is, I'd appreciate guidance on how to configure the circuit.

Thank.

  • Hi,

    Sorry for the delay.

Yes, you should be able to use THS4509 as single-ended to differential converter and to drive ADS5294. See the circuit from the ADS5294EVM user guide below. You can use this circuit as a starting point and then empirically optimize for your use case (bandwidth, signal swing, SNR etc.) on your prototype board.

Follow guidelines from below sections in the datasheet -

One recommendation is - simulate your driver network with ADC input impedance model (shown below) in TINA-TI or PSPICE for checking noise, input bandwidth, signal swing and common-mode.

    Thanks,

    Karthik
