ADC12DJ5200RF: power block for multiple ADC+DAC

Part Number: ADC12DJ5200RF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC39RF10, , TPSM82913, TPSM5D1806

Hi,

Could you recommend which power supply can be shared in this multiple ADC+DAC application?

Customer would like to 5 combination of ADC12DJ5200RF and DAC39RF10.

Best power structure is each power supply for each device but customer would like to optimize power block for size reduction.

could you guide what power supply can be shared and what power supply has to be separated?

Thanks.

  • Hi David,

I am gathering this information for you. Please give me a few days to respond.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  • Hi Dave,

We recommend to keep the ADC and DAC powers separated.

For the DAC, if the customer truly wants to utilize the phase noise performance of this device, then they should replicate the DAC EVM power supply circuits 5X times.

For the ADC, you can combo the ADC analog and digital supplies together as follows: VA11x5, VA19x5, VD11x5.

If you need power part number recommendations specifically for powering HSADCs/DACs we recommend the following, or please reach out to the power BU:

    TPS7A9401: 1A cleanest LDO

    TPS7A9601: 2A cleanest LDO

    TPS7A8400: 3A, next cleanest LDO

    TPSM82913: 3A, DC-DC with integrated inductor

    TPSM5D1806: DC-DC, Dual 6A or single 12A

    Regards,

    Rob
