DAC102S085: Offset Error and Output Range

Part Number: DAC102S085

Hello team,

I could not find offset error for this device from the datasheet.
Is there any offset error data?

Also this device can output 0V to VA, because of rail to rail amp. But at very close to 0V, there might be distortion.
What would be the minimum output range, with linear ouput (no distortion)?

Best Regards,
Kei Kuwahara

  • Hi Kei,

Offset error in this datasheet is called Zero Code Error, which is typically 5mA with a max of 15mA.

I'm not sure what you mean by minimum output range in this case. The full range is determined by the VREFIN voltage, which can go from 1V to VA. All ranges would start at 0V and to go what you set VREFIN to. If you set VREFIN to a lower voltage than VA (say, VA = 5V and VREFIN = 3V), the output range would be 0-3V, with only distortion at 0V. This makes the minimum range for the DAC output 0V-1V, as that is the recommended minimum operating condition of VREFIN.

Let me know if I didn't answer your question properly.

    Thanks,
    Erin
