DAC8775: Device ID wrong

Part Number: DAC8775

Hi team,

We are currently using DAC8775 and the Reset pin remains high when powered on. When I read the Device ID, it is 0x0003. Why does the value of this register change? Will the registers of DAC8775 be confused when the Reset pin of DAC8775 is kept high when it is powered on? Do I need to do a hardware reset to recover? Or do I have to keep Reset low before powering on?

Now we found 1 pcs occur this bug, total test 20pcs.

Thanks

Lillian

  • Hi Lillian,

Page 39 of the datasheet states that after power up, a hardware reset using the RESET pin must be issued.

This can be done by either keeping RESET low at startup, or toggling it afterwards.

I don't think behavior when this doesn't occur has been specifically characterized, but this would be a good step to do.

    Thanks,
    Lucas
