ADS127L21EVM-PDK: Installation Issue with GUI for ADS127L21EVM-PDK

I’m trying to install the GUI for the ADS127L21EVM-PDK evaluation board but I’m having problems with the USB driver installation which gives an error when I try to install it. When I connect the board it comes up in Device Manager as “Other Devices – Bulk Generic Device”. Can you tell me what the driver is called and where it gets installed so that I can manually point to the correct driver?

I’m running Windows 10 Enterprise version 22H2.

I’m unable to turn off the antivirus as the company has it locked on and don’t give me access.

Hello Chase,

The PHI Driver is located here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\ADS127L21 EVM\PHI Driver

You may want to run the installer program as ADMIN, but you should also be able to manually install from the above directory.

the customer tried running the “DriverInstall.exe” as admin and got the following result below.

Could you review and recommend something to fix it?

The customer has admin rights and tried installing as admin.

He also just tried to install it on another laptop that is not connected to the company network, it failed to install the driver in exactly the same way.

Hi Mikhail,

Please ask the customer to install the GUI for ADS127L11EVM-PDK. Both of these products use the same drivers. If this works, great, we need to figure out why the L21-GUI is not working and fix it. Otherwise, this could be an issue with anti-virus software not allowing any hardware drivers to install.

Appreciate any your thoughts how it can be fixed.

ADS127L11EVM-PDK installed ok but when I run the ADS1278_EVM app I get the following error:

The board USB does now show as a sensor,,,

And the driver info is…

Hi Mikhail,

I am confused, which EVM are we talking about? You cannot connect an ADS127L21EVM and use it with the ADS1278EVM-GUI. It does appear the PHI drivers are now installed. Please ask the customer to use the ADS127L21EVM-GUI with the ADS127L21EVM and see if it now works.
