AMC1306E05: Would lower clock input have lower resolution

Part Number: AMC1306E05

Hi Champ,

I am asking for customer. They are using AMC1306 + C2000 SDFM.

Since the clock input is within 5MHz ~20MHz, would the lower clock input (i.e. 5MHz) have lower accurate resolution on current sensing ?

If yes, is there a formula to know how the resolution would be sacrificed ?

Thanks and regards,

Johnny

  • Hi Johnny,

Who is the customer and what is their system?

If your clock is within the recommended operating conditions this should not affect the accuracy of the device. The OSR and sinc filter would affect the accuracy though.

    Best regards,

    Champ

  • Hi Eva,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

It is server PSU customer using AMC + c2000 SDFM based emetering solution.

So the clock speed within the recommended operating would only affect how fast the bitstream is sending to the MCU, correct ? Any other adv./disadv. of the setup for the clock speed ?

    Thanks and regards,

    Johnny

  • Hi Johnny,

Yes, that is correct. There are small effects from the clock that you can see in the datasheet, but they are mostly negligible.

    Here are some examples.

    Best regards,
    Eva
