DAC43204: A0 Address Questions

Part Number: DAC43204

Hi expert,

If customer want to use address 000 which need pull A0 to GND but they use I2C need pullup. Will that be an issue?

If customer choose address 001 and pull A0 to VDD, do we suggest to have an pullup resistor(what would be recommended value? 10K?) or can tie directly to VDD?

Thanks,

Allan

  • Hi expert,

I want to use address 010 or 011 like the photo settings.
But will it affect the adress setting if I pull high I2C?

    thanks,

    TW

  • Hi TW,

The SDA and SCL pins require a pullup to VIO for I2C communication, but the A0 pin does not. It can be tied directly to VIO or GND. For the case where A0 is ties to SDA or SCL, it is ok that SDA or SCL already have a pullup to VIO as this is expected for normal I2C communication.

The schematic you have shown will work as long as only one of either R5, R6, R72, or R73 is populated during operation.
