DSK6455 + 5-6K + ADS1274EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1274

Hello

I have 3 boards: DSK6455 + 5-6K + ADS1274EVM, but they don't work.

This is my first problem:

On the 5-6K board, W2 and W3 are on DSK option.

I have connected DSK6455 + 5-6K, I measure on JP5/6 (5-6K) the power signals, I have found 3.3 v and 5 v signals (W2 and W3) but I don't found +5VA (pins JP(5/6).3) then on the board ADS1274EVM there aren't the reference voltages on J1.

On the 5-6K scheme I have seen that DSK6455 gives the +5Vdsk on J19 connector (Pheripheral). Am I in the right?

I don't understand what is the problem? Could you help me?

Best regards.

  • Hi Manuel,

The 10-pin power connectors (female on the ADS1274 and the two males on the 5-6K) have connections to the analog and digital power rails.  Pins 9 and 10 of JP5 and JP6 can share the digital power rails of the DSK using the jumpers at W2 and W3, but the analog power rail (the +5VA) is not connected in the same way.  You can use an external supply at the screw terminal J2 (right side, marked +5VA), or if you do not have a redily available 5V source, you could run a piece of bus wire from J6 (+5) to J2 (+5VA) on the 5-6K Interface Card.

You could also carefully jumper J3.10 to J3.3 on the ADS1274EVM.    Pin 10 is the upper rightmost pin, pin 3 is on the bottom row, second from the left.

  • Hello Tom

    I haven't an external source.

I don't understand your first option: J6  to J2. Aren't they external connectors?

I have connected J3.10 to J3.5 and I have now the reference voltages. I hope I can work with the ADS1274. But, is possible other solution?

    Thank you.

    Regards.

    Manuel

  • Hi Manuel,

Glad to hear that you have the reference voltages!

I'm not sure I follow what you mean when you ask about another solution.  If its about the power connection, the right sides of J2 and J6 on the 5-6K Interface Board are the analog and digital +5V rail inputs.  When you moved the shunt on W2 to provide the 5V digital rail (closed pins 2-3) so its sourced by the DSK, shorting J6 to J2 via bus wire will do the same thing as jumping between J3.10 and J3.3 on the ADS1274EVM.
