ADS131M04: Set continuous sampling, and the data will be confused after long-term operation

Dear TI

       The customer used MSP430 and ADS131M04 to set continuous sampling, and after long-term operation (about 6 months), the problem of sampling data confusion occurred.

        The data sampling data was normal after the chip was restarted, but the problem would still occur after a while.

        There were about 1000 samples, and 10pcs of the same problem occurred.

       Please help to analyze the reason, thank you.

    Hi Rain,

    The schematic of ADS131M04 ADC is good. I would recommend the customer to monitor the digital bus including /CS,SCLK,DOUT,DIN and /DRDY. To address the issue, capturing the waveforms for these signals is important especially when the issue is observed, and also the raw data for normal operation and the data when the issue occurred should be recorded and they can be used to compare.
