ADC12DJ5200-SP: EVM Board Question

Part Number: ADC12DJ5200-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DJ5200RF

To Whom It May Concern: I

We're curious why the EVAL board (ADC12DJ5200RF EVM) is up to Rev. D?  We experienced BER issues on another Demo board we designed and attributed it to the PDN of the power supplies.  So we are trying to match your EVAL board after getting the database and simulating it in Hyperlynx.  We noticed you have 0201, 0.1uF caps to decouple the supplies but we are unable to use 0201s so we're trying to match the PDN of your EVAL board; however, we have found this not to be a trivial task and hoping that the rationale behind your Rev D will help us decide what to do next.

Thanks,

  • Hi Joseph,

Various rules and factors that are internal to TI's release process that make the EVM at REVD.

I can say throughout our rev process we didn't have any PDN issue that caused us to rev the EVM.

If you follow the guidelines within the user guide and datasheet you should be fine.

If you need additional guidance during your layout process, we are happy to provide guidance or a review and even do this offline.

    Regards,

    Rob
