We are using JMODE8 664/66b and intend to use JCTRL.sync_sel =2 (do not use any sync input pin) use JSYNC_N as software sync.

Can we tie pin SYNCSE to GND permanently.

Eric,

So if I am using 64/66b encoded JESD204C (JMODE8) I can tie this pin to ground?

Yes you can do that as the datasheet says.
