AFE58JD28: LVDS operation

Part Number: AFE58JD28

Hello,

We are using four of these devices on our custom board and have a few questions about the LVDS interface.

1. Does the MSB first feature work as described in the datasheet. When using the ramp custom pattern, we capture the ramp correctly when using the MSB first,

However when switching to LSB first the pattern becomes distorted.

2. When I try to switch between using the ramp and the custom pattern, the bit ordering seems to swap from LSB first to msb first on its own.

I read that the custom pattern is always taken from MSB first, but I would think that the MSB first vs. LSB first would occur at serilaization.

Thanks,

John

  • Hi,

Ramp pattern is expected to work in LSB first mode . What is the output you are seeing in LSB first mode ?

Custom pattern also should work in LSB first mode . You might have read this about serialization and  adc resolution.

Yes you are correct .MSB first vs. LSB first would occur at serilaization.
