ADS8688EVM-PDK: Problem with updating the EEPROM after swaping out the 8688 with a 8698

Part Number: ADS8688EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8688, ADS8678, ADS8698

Greetings,

We at Draeger are interested in evaluating the 8698 (18-bit ADC), so we desoldered the 8688 and populated the pin-compatible 8698

Following the EVM user guide, I moved the write protect switch to enable writing the EEPROM, and then powered on the EVM, and started

the GUI.

The GUI (v1.1.0) comes up fine, and shows ADS8688 in the upper right corner.

Tools -> Load EEPROM

However, it only gives me two options, ADS8678 and ADS8688

No ADS8698 option?

What am I missing, or doing wrong?

Thanks

Ken
