I am trying to install the software (Setup_ADS1278_EVM.exe) for use with the ADS1278V2EVM-PDK, but I get the following error:
I am only having issues with this driver. The rest of the software installs without issue.
I should have added some computer config info:
Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700 2.10 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Enterprise
Version 23H2
Installed on 1/18/2024
OS build 22631.3447
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22688.1000.0
Hello William,
Yes, we recently discovered that part of the driver was not correctly included in the installation package. We are working on an update, but it will probably be end of May before we get this published on the product folder page.
In the mean time, there is a work-around. First, install the ADS127L11EVM-PDK-GUI software package. This EVM uses the same drivers as the ADS1278EVM-PDK. Once these have been installed, you should be able to reinstall the ADS1278V2EVM-PDK-GUI.

Keith,
I uninstalled ADS1278V2EVM-PDK-GUI, I installed ADS127L11EVM-PDK-GUI without error, I reinstalled ADS1278V2EVM-PDK-GUI and got the same error.
Is it possible to download and install just the driver?
Willy
Hi William,
You may still get the error when installing the ADS1278 software, but the necessary drivers should already be installed if the ADS127L11EVM-PDK-GUI installed correctly.
Have you tried to connect to the EVM with the ADS1278 GUI?
To manually install the driver (you will need to use the version located in the L11 folder), navigate to the following directory and launch the driverInstall.exe file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\ADS127L11 EVM\PHI Driver

Keith
After installing the ADS127L11 and ADS1278 software, I get this error when trying to connect to the hardware.
The PHI is plugged into the USB. After this error, all the LEDs on the PHI go out.

Hello Willy,
Do you have an external power supply connected to the EVM? Recommended is +6V and 500mA.
Also, make sure no other test equipment is connected to the EVM during start-up of the software.

Keith
I do not have any external signal source connect; otherwise my configuration matches what you posted above.
Willy
Hi Willy,
Maybe try using a different USB port, and try using a different USB cable. This seems to be a hardware issue with the USB connection.
Regards,
Keith
Thanks Keith,
I had it plugged into an external USB hub. I plugged it directly into the computer and it worked.
