ADS1292: How to reduce the ADS1292's power comsumption

Part Number: ADS1292

Dear Expert

testing procedure
1 ADS1292 single power supply 3.3V power supply
2 Collect EEG signals at a 1K sampling rate from the N-end and P-end of channel 2 of ADS1292,
The register configuration is as follows:

Hardware connection method:

Question: According to the above method, the working current of the ADC module is 2.37mA. Can we further reduce the power consumption of the ADC module by configuring registers through software or optimizing hardware? Thank you!

  • Hello Gabriel,

Thank you for your post. Did you mean to attach a different schematic image? I do not see the ADS1292 in the circuit above.

Powering down unused channels and features (i.e. RLD amplifier, LOFF current sources, etc.) and reducing the data rate are effective ways to save power. You can also reduce the IOVDD supply to the minimum supported by the ADC and the host controller.

Total supply current for the ADS1292 should be less than 325 µA. Are you sharing analog or digital supplies with other circuitry which may be drawing more current?

    Regards,

    Ryan
