DAC80502: Very basic general question about TUE

Hi,

I am very sorry to ask you a very basic general question about TUE.

I suppose there seems to be no description about TUE on the datasheet of ADCs.

On the other hand, DACs datasheet seems to be.

I do not understand well why ADCs do not specify the TUE.

Will you teach me the reason why?

    There could be many reasons why TUE is not specified in some ADCs.  Mostly, it depends on the ADC architecture.  SAR ADCs actually have CDAC that the input is compared against.  That CDAC in the SAR has many of the same behaviors as our DACs: INL, DNL, Gain Error, Offset Error. If the ADC is a delta-sigma type, there really is only noise as the source of error.  For that reason, if noise is not present on a delta-sigma, there would be no ADC non-linearity.  For that reason, most delsigs only have gain error, offset error, and sometimes a linearity specification in %.
