Hi Team,

I want to design a PCB with ADC128S102 using the PHI motherboard of the ADC128S102EVM.

I can replicate the connections as appear in the schematics of the ADC128S102EVM but I'm not sure if the EEPROM is necessary.
If it is necessary is there something needs to be write down to it by the I2C interface? any other preparations?

Please Advise.

Hi Moral,

The EEPROM on the ADC128S102EVM tells the PHI which device it is communicating with for functions such as setting the supply voltages to the proper level. We can provide the program used to flash this information to the EEPROM on request.

Of note, the PHI controller is intended for evaluation use. It's not recommended to be integrated within production designs, and we cannot provide support for it in this case.

Hi Joel,

The PHI is not part of the design really its just for a single measure.. no support will be needed to the PHI.
Please provide the program used to flash this information to the EEPROM, is it possible to flash it with the PHI itself?
Another question related to it, is it possible to turn of the EEPROM once the PHI used it for the settings?
If my question is not clear enough I will rephrase.

Hi Moral,

Yes, the EEPROM is flashed through the PHI's I2C lines. You should be able to follow the EEPROM from the user's guide for this.

You can turn off/remove the EEPROM after configuring the PHI, but after a power cycle, the PHI's configuration will reset and it will need to be done again.

I'm working on getting you the program to flash the EEPROM and will follow up with you with that. Let me know if you have further questions.
