ADS4149: how to use for single ended analog input

Part Number: ADS4149

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have been using ADS4149 in one of my design and have attached its schematic. I want to use this for single-ended analog input. Could you please let me know if I can do it? If yes, Please suggest how to do it.

  • Hi Ankur,

Simply tie Vout_N to ground and drive Vout_P. In some cases you might lose 6dB of dynamic range (half fullscale or 1.0Vpp SE vs. 2.0Vpp DIFF), as the analog input is now cut in half. This all depends on the internal input stage of the ADC and how it was designed to handle SE vs. DIFF inputs.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • Dear Rob,

I have attached my schematic which uses using ADS4149 to my post. Please indicate if ADS 4149 would be able to handle both SE and DIFF inputs. Please let us know (based on our schematics) if any other change needs to be done to support single ended inputs on this device.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ankur,

I indicated that above in what should be done on your schematic in order for the ADS4149 to handle a SE analog input.

    Regards,

    Rob
