ADS1298ECGFE-PDK: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK - acquiring valid ECG signal - signal from electrode not detected.

Part Number: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am trying to acquire signal from ADS1298ECGFE-PDK development board. Unfortunately I am getting straight horizontal line in the associated application software both on artificial and live patient  in the ECG display and Scope.

Generating internal square waveforms proceed correctly. However after choosing Channel Input: Normal Electrode I am obtaining only horizontal line. How can I test it?

Regards

E

  • Hello E,

    Thank you for your post.

It sounds like the ECG channel is saturating to positive or negative full-scale. If the internal square wave is working well, then the ADC reference voltage must be correct. I suggest trying to reduce the PGA gain and recheck your connections to the signal source. Remember to share ground connections and to shift the input signal to near mid-supply (hint: you can use the RLD amplifier output for this).
